Take a Tour

Our staff and volunteers offer many types of tours. We frequently add new artifacts, memorabilia and heart-touching stories. Our latest exhibits share veterans perspectives on the conflicts in Vietnam and Korea. For 20 years we have made it our mission to honor and commemorate Major Bong and all proceeding veterans. Please join us in doing so.

WWII ‘Ace of Aces’, Major Richard Ira Bong

But He’s Our Hometown Hero.

The first of nine children, born in 1920 to a Swedish immigrant father and American-born mother, Dick Bong’s (Richard Bong) upbringing epitomized the values and expectations of that era – loyalty to his family and a deep sense of patriotism.

Events At Bong Center

We plan, host and participate in numerous annual events here at the Bong Veterans Center and within our local communities. Join us for an upcoming event and get to know us, the good old-fashioned Wisconsin way! ;)

At the Bong Center, we honor and share military history by involving intergenerational experiences. Not only do we offer school/group tours but we have pioneered new programs for all ages.
